John Legend’s new single, “Preach”, made its triumphant debut on the iHeart Radio Awards and thank God I was able to add some choreography and staging to this wonderful work of art. Jemel McWilliams brought me in for inception and camera blocking. It was hard to just be a spectator listening to words of the song and call to action. 18 of the finest recording artists and back up vocalists comprised the John Legend choir and rocked the house. Check it out for yourself.
Today was an amazing experience getting to warm up and set some lindy choreography on the Gwen Stefani dancers for their live show in Las Vegas. Head choreographer, Luther Brown, afforded me the opportunity to revamp some choreography and there was soo much joy and focus in the room. Many thanks to the cast and Luther’s choreography team for allowing me to laugh with, motivate, and teach some classic lindy vibes.

It is an honor to announce I am now represented by Clear Talent Group (CTG) LA and NY offices for choreography, dance education, and dance. I’m excited to grow, flourish, and bloom with this agency and I’m eager to hit the ground running. They have the support, staff, and reach to guide me into the next season of my career. New things happening in 2019.

I’m pooped but smiling nonetheless. I assisted Alexandra Hulme on this cross promotion project and I cannot wait to be able to share it with everyone. Look out for the “Isn’t It Romantic” Rebel Wilson movie project promos starting to air Feb 10th.
Make sure you catch some of my work on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. John Legend performed a healthy mashup of “ What Christmas Means to Me” and “Bring Me Love”. I had the honor to give some Motown vibes and style to the background vocalists. Jemel McWilliams served as the head choreographer and it was great to collaborate on such a fun project.

Merry Motown Christmas!
“All I Want for Christmas is You”… That song has been on the charts for ever since I can remember and it was such an honor to revamp the choreography to it. Bryan Tanaka, Mariah’s head choreographer, brought me on board last year to help choreograph new dances for the Christmas Tour last year and it has been a blessing to get another shot at it a year later. For anyone in Europe, check out this exquisite tour. For anyone anywhere else, get those fingers clicking to YouTube.
Happy Holidays!
Thank God for Julie Schmid, Lauren Sigler and Josie Camden. Today was ProBowl choreography day in absentia. This is my 12th year choreographing for the NFL ProBowl but this year I can’t make the group choreography session. The choreo flowed, “high v’s” were hit, and hair was flung. A great day was had by all!
Everyone look out for John Legend’s Christmas Tour headed your way. I got the opportunity to help with some of the BGV (BackGround Vocalist) choreography, graciously directed by Jemel McWilliams. The studio vibe was symbiotic and the energy was flowing. BGVs are my favorite to work with and this was no exception. It was hard to not just stare in awe at the notes executed in rehearsal. Can’t wait to see the final product.
Yesterday was a wonderful day and a great lesson in remembering where you came from. Acting as proxy for Sienna Lyons, I choreographed the audition for the new KidzBop tour and video auditionees. There were some high and low points but one particular kid reminded me why I do what I do.
This young man was a perfectionist. He had not fully mastered dance skills yet and was beating himself up. I quickly jumped up from behind the table to console him and let him know it happens to the best of us. Starting my foray into the industry at the ripe old age of 12, I knew exactly what this youngster was going through.
Be careful with other people’s gifts, hearts and talents. The future generations are looking to us to be the leaders they need.
Mandy Moore is one of the most passionate and collaborative choreographers I’ve ever worked with. Working and creating with her is always a pleasure and an organic process. Being that tap dance is my forte’, she enlisted my expertise to inject the opening number with some true hoofing and busking.
